Which Oklahoma Program May Fit You Best?

For the RHIA

SWOSU‘s online BS and 39-credit MS are both CAHIIM-accredited. Residents pay $310 per graduate credit, and the master’s can be paired with an MBA.

For Registered Nurses

NSU‘s online informatics MSN includes 200 precepted practicum hours and admits RNs without a BSN through a non-traditional pathway. A 12-credit nursing informatics certificate uses the same four informatics courses.

For an Associate Degree

Rose State College in Midwest City admits 15 students each fall to its AAS, with data management and revenue management tracks and professional practice experiences leading to the RHIT.

Programs That Have Closed

  • University of Tulsa: its MSN in Informatics and Analytics is no longer listed; the current online MSN offers leadership, education, and public health tracks.
  • Tulsa Community College: CAHIIM lists its health information program as inactive.

How to Compare Oklahoma Health Informatics Programs

Decide first between the RHIA route at SWOSU and the nursing route at NSU. Then check residency: NSU charges nearly the same online rate to all students, while SWOSU lists no separate online rate, so nonresidents may pay about twice the resident price.
