Which New Jersey Program May Fit You Best?

For the RHIA

Rutgers offers the online HIM bachelor’s for students finishing general education elsewhere, including joint degrees with Felician, Kean, and Georgian Court, and an online HIM master’s for bachelor’s holders in other fields.

For Informatics and Analytics

Rutgers’ MS in Health Informatics runs online or as a STEM-designated campus program and leads into its Doctor of Health Informatics. NJIT’s campus engineering technology bachelor’s offers medical informatics concentrations.

For Registered Nurses

The Rutgers School of Nursing‘s online MSN includes at least 500 practicum hours and an AI course. Georgian Court launches a 36-credit online informatics MSN with 200 practicum hours in spring 2027.

How to Compare New Jersey Health Informatics Programs

Decide whether you need the RHIA, which Rutgers’ HIM programs provide and its health informatics master’s does not. Out-of-state students pay only slightly more for Rutgers’ online health professions master’s degrees, but the nursing MSN charges nonresidents about $20,000 more.
