Why Choose This Health Informatics Program?

A pathway choice among accredited bachelor’s and master’s routes with several tracks.

Choosing a pathway. Undergraduates who finish prerequisites elsewhere can enter the two-year BS; graduates can pick a data science, analytics, or management track in the MS and study online at the in-state rate.

The trade-offs. Out-of-state campus tuition runs well above the online rate, and the BS requires full-time campus study.

Accreditation

CAHIIM accredits Pitt’s master’s and baccalaureate degrees in Health Informatics through 2032-2033, per Pitt, and CAHIIM’s directory lists both as active.

The University of Pittsburgh is institutionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

Check the AMIA Health Informatics Certification eligibility rules for how a CAHIIM-accredited informatics master’s counts toward the AHIC.
